This is the second step required before becoming certified at the full cave level.
At this level the student learns how to concisely plan and develop the proper mechanics to execute a safe and efficient dive. More emphasis is put into the student being able to do longer penetrations into the cave and still be able to execute a safe and effective dive.
The rule of thirds is always abided by in all inclosed environment courses.
Required equipment: one safety reel, one primary reel, three line arrows and three lights are required .The NSS student workbook is required and a written test is given at this level of training.
The intro to cave course is a two day course that requires at least a total of 4 dives at two different locations. Proper technique with a clean and yet simple equipment configuration is a must at this level of training.
