What's Happening

The internet has created a network that allows everyone access to many things. You can find websites that you can buy from or websites that will allow you to sell a product. There are sites such as eBay where you can either sell your products at auction or through the store. Likewise, you can bid and win something you always wanted and at a price you can afford BUT, there are times when you win a bid, send your money and never hear from the seller again. Sure, the Auction sites can restrict the seller from doing this again. Then he comes up with a different identity and then the scammer is up and running again. You are the victim.

If you use your credit card on line, there are no guarantees that someone isnt selling you something just to get your credit card information and unless you are watching carefully, you just bought someone a nice large screen TV or something even more expensive. This gives the scammer something to sell to someone else and then he has your money from your credit card and also the money that he gets from selling the item that YOU just bought but dont know about.

What Can You Do

1. Do not give any information to anyone. If you get a message from your bank, PayPal or some Credit Card company requesting that you update, confirm or some other reason they wantyour information, make sure it is the REAL THING and you are absolutely sure it is genuine. There are a lot of scammers using authentic looking email addresses.

2. If you see a charge on your bank account or credit card, call them immediately and explain what happened.

3. If you paid for merchandise and didnt receive it, seek help. That is what this website is for. Let a Private Detective do the work and then go to court.

4. Dont let anyone Prey on you.
