How Do I Get To Heaven? FIRST, you must understand that you are a sinner. So are we all. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;". What is sin? Anything that God has commanded us not to do. This includes murder and theft, but also lying and cheating. We all are guilty. SECOND, you must understand that there is a penalty for sin. Romans 6:23a says "For the wages of SIN is DEATH:". We all die one day, and face judgement by God. The penalty for sin is clear -- death and Hell.

THIRD, you must understand that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin on our behalf. Romans 6:23 goes on to say, "but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord." Jesus, being God's own son and having led a perfect life, was able to die on our behalf, making it possible for man to enter into Heaven. FOURTH, you must put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ completely. How? Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (from Hell). For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation." All God requires is a simple prayer from the heart, asking forgiveness for our sins (this is 'repentance') and accepting the salvation He has provide through His son. You can accept God's salvation through Jesus Christ by praying this simple prayer right now: "Oh, God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior.
